MADISON, Ind. (November 2004) A slick new TV commercial
featuring Madison will soon be a part of the Indian Tourism Departments
2005 advertising campaign.
A film production company, Road Pictures, out of Indianapolis spent
all day Sunday, Oct. 17 in town filming various scenes to be used for
a 15-second TV spot. Much of the content for the commercial was filmed
at Clifty Falls State Park and along Madisons Main Street.

It was at the height of the fall leaves, and the
town just looked gorgeous, said Nancy Cira, marketing director
for the Indiana Tourism Department who attended the film session.
The essence of the spot was fall color, and it made the town almost
look European, Cira said. Its a beautiful town, and
everyone at the park was so helpful in managing the traffic for the
shoot.
Although the Madison TV spot features the fall season, Cira said it
may also air in the spring. Our objective is to showcase how fun
and exciting and unique all our places are and how much variety there
is for visitors in our state.
Cira said the 15-second spot will air next year back-to-back with other
15-second spots from other locations throughout the state. They were
filmed at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Holiday World
in Santa Claus, the Indiana Dunes State Park in Chesterton, Paramount
Theater in Anderson, Monument Circle in Indianapolis, West Baden Springs
Hotel in West Baden, Turkey Run State Park in Marshall, and Blue Springs
Caverns in Bedford.

The Madison commercial featured a couple driving through
town and the park in a small convertible. Other filming locations for
the shoot included Markt Lytles home four miles east of town on
Hwy. 56, Vaughn Drive along the riverfront and Hanging Rock hill on
Hwy. 7.
Jeff Weiser directed the filming, which was conducted by Road Pictures
and producer Greg Malone of Indianapolis. Malone was part of the film
crew for the movie Madison.
The Indiana Tourism Department rolled out the first six TV spots at
its Hospitality Conference last March in Indianapolis. The latter three
spots those in Madison, South Bend and Santa Claus were filmed
this fall.
