at Versailles Bluegrass Festival

(October 2007) Thirteen bluegrass bands are
scheduled to perform at 19th annual Versailles State Park Bluegrass
Festival set for Oct. 6-7 near Versailles, Ind.
Well-known bands from across the region such as Cincinnatis Comet
Bluegrass All-Stars, Milan, Ind.s Wildwood Valley Boys, and The
All American Bluegrass Band from Richmond, Ind., will hit the stage
for this two-day event.

Saturdays line-up begins at 10 a.m. with BJ Express.
Following will be Work-In-Progress, Mt. Pleasant String Band, Rural
Route 2, James White Band, Comet Bluegrass All-Stars, and Born Again.
A lake-front bonfire will begin at approximately 7 p.m., where band
members and festival-goers are welcome to bring out their instruments
for a jam session.
Sunday will begin with a church service at 10 a.m. led by Jim Denman,
who inspired many at last years service. He will then perform,
followed by Barn Storming Bluegrass, Lost Mill, All American Bluegrass
Band, and Born Again. Closing out the festival will be the Wildwood
Valley Boys.
Festival attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs but no
alcohol. A variety of food will be available at the festival site. Entrance
to the festival is only $5 per person, plus the park gate fee for one
day.
Sponsors for the festival include the Ripley County Community Foundation,
Friendship State Bank, McDonalds restaurant, Sonnys Concessions,
Little Red Wagon Concessions, Boones Redneck Cooking Wagon, Bill
Schrader, Tom Todhunter, Gilpin Screen Printing, Southeastern Indiana
REMC, Pats Bulk Food and Main Source Insurance.
Held the first weekend of October each year on the shore of the Versailles
Lake, the Bluegrass Festival offers visitors a chance to hear great
music while relaxing outdoors with the backdrop of fall foliage.
