for Kentucky’s 2012 race on sale

‘Quaker State 400’ to be held

SPARTA, Ky. (December 2011) – Season tickets for the five NASCAR events and campsites for the 2012 race season at the Kentucky Speedway went on sale Nov. 14. Tickets and campsites can be reserved at www.kentuckyspeedway.com or by calling (859) 578-2300 or visiting the speedway corporate offices at 1 Speedway Dr. in Sparta, Ky., just off I-71 Exit 57.
Kentucky Speedway season ticket pricing will not increase in 2012 and plans will be offered on six price levels starting at $179. Pricing reflects a significant discount off individual event ticket prices, and plans offer a variety of amenities such as the opportunity to purchase individual tickets for the June 30 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series “Quaker State 400” before they are offered to the public.
Campsites can be reserved for the full season in any of the speedway’s three infield or five exterior campgrounds at prices starting at $300. Many sites offer access to electric service.
The “Quaker State 400” is slotted one week earlier than last season on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule and serves as the finale to a tripleheader weekend that also includes the Friday, June 29, NASCAR Nationwide Series “Feed The Children 300” and Thursday, June 28, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series “UNOH 225.”
A newly-awarded, Saturday, Sept. 22, NASCAR Nationwide Series 300-mile race will close out the speedway’s second weekend that opens with a 225-mile NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event on Friday, Sept. 21.
“The ‘Quaker State 400’ weekend again promises to be our region’s biggest summer event when our inaugural race winner, Kyle Busch, defends his title against a field of the best and brightest NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stars,” Kentucky Speedway General Manager Mark Simendinger said.
“NASCAR’s decision to award our speedway a second Nationwide Series date is an important endorsement as we continue to develop our facility. Already the nation’s second most watched motorsports franchise, the Nationwide Series is poised to grow in popularity next season when drivers Austin Dillon and Danica Patrick begin their first full-time quests for the championship. Our fans have always enthusiastically supported the series and I can’t think of a better year to add a return date.”
